Come one, come all to the inaugural Labyrinth Tradition for current McBrides on THURSDAY, APRIL 17, 2014 at 7pm in the Quita Woodward Room in Thomas Great Hall. Refreshments will be provided.
On Wednesday, November 13th 2013, McBride alumnae gathered with current McBrides to sip wine, eat pizza and brownies, and discuss the many similarities and differences between the past and present program.
As has been tradition, on May Day 2012, the McBrides marched in the parade, and danced around a purple, yellow and white maypole. The senior McBrides in attendance (Cindy Spalding, Julie Gorham, and Judith Mendehlson) ran the hoop race, before McBride Advocacy Mistress, Julie Gorham, passed on the McBride hoop (wrapped in purple ribbon) to the succeeding Mistress, Shannon Yaeger. Many McBrides brought their families for a picnic on the lawn, using the bouncy castle, and face-painting on offer. Several McBrides stayed for the final step-sing of the year, where “Stand By Me” — the McBride song — rang loud and true!
In the 2010-2011 academic year, Julie Gorham McBride 2012, wrote a column in the Bi-Co News entitled, “Introducing the McBrides.” The column was well-received by students, staff, and faculty, raising the profile of McBrides’ presence on campus.
